| Don Bosco Centres for Career Guidance and Job
Placement came into existence on 5th June 2004 at St.Theresa's
Church, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad and on 19th March 2004 at
Assumption Church Pezzaimpet, Vijayawada. These centres were
initiated as pilot centres and later a full pledged province
Centre will be developed at a suitable place in Hyderabad. A
network of cells is envisaged at Visakhapatnam, Kadapa, Warangal
and Nellore as to reach out to the Youth from various regions of
Andhra Pradesh.
Fr. William Raju Marneni SDB has been appointed as the
Director of the Province centre at St. Theresa's Church,
Sanathnagar, Hyderabad on 24th May 2004. Since then the office
has been set up with minimum furniture and staff. The Programmes
taken up within one year, were Staff Training, Collecting
seminar Materials, Preparing Power Point Programme on Career
Guidance Seminars, conducting job market survey. DHISHA team
visits to the Salesian Educational Institutions of Hyderabad
Province and training up of the unemployed youth through the
assistance of Jan Siksha Samsthan. (JSS)
In the Scholastic year 2004 - 2005 DHISHA Team has conducted
Career Guidance seminars for 2500 Students and placed 146
unemployed youth in the various jobs and trained 378 unemployed
through JSS in Tailoring, Fabric Paintings, Batic Paintings, Tie
and Dye and Screen Printing and Lamination Technology. A group
of 35 rural Poor unemployed boys from various Salesian
institutions of Hyderabad Province learned Colour T.V. Mechanism
and House Wiring in the Month of April 2005. |
