At the outset we thank the Almighty for blessing us with this project. We are grateful to Jugend Dritt Welt, Bonn, Germany who had negotiated on behalf of our province with German Ministry. They have taken lot of trouble and concern to get this project sanctioned to us. It took 3 long years of discussion for approval. I thank Bro. John Paul Muller Mission Procurator JDW, Bonn, Germany, Mr. Hans-Jurgen Dorrich, Managing Director JDW, Bonn, Germany Ms. Silvia Cromm, Head of Project Department, JDW, Bonn Germany, Mr. Roland Strux, Project Manager, JDW, Bonn, Germany and Ms. Claudia Moll, Project Manager, JDW, Bonn, Germany who have made this project a reality for our province.
On 6th July 2010 the project was inaugurated in the presence of Fr Bellamkonda Sudhakar Director, BSK, Fr. Jayapaul Rector, St. Michael`s Boys` Home, Guntur, Fr Thomas Santiagu Asst. Director of BSK, Fr. Baly, In-charge of Printing Press, Guntur, Fr. G. Michael Kishore, Rector, Don Bosco Jr. college, Chandur, Fr. Joseph Kollithanathu Rector, Bosco Ashram, Ponnur and Fr. Y. Sleevaraju Rector, Don Bosco, Punganur along with other 40 newly recruited staff.
Fr. Thomas Santiagu welcomed the guests and participants and he said that now the time has come to every one of us to take forward this programme with commitment and dedication. He also gave a call to the gathering to treat this programme as your own. Fr. Bellamkonda Sudhakar, Director of BSK in his speech recalled past memories of discussions with agency and hard times he had gone through for three year to get this project sanctioned. Since new staff has been recruited he explained in detail about the activities of Don Bosco Institutions worldwide, in our country and particularly in Andhra Pradesh for different segments of the society. He said that we have gathered in a historical place which was the first institution in Andhra Pradesh in way back 1964, St. Michael`s Boys` Home, Guntur. Fr. Sudhakar said that we are not only belong to the `Don Bosco Organization` but also belong to the ``Don Bosco Family``. Let us work with that spirit. The bond we are making today should remain for a long time. We must walk hand in hand to reach out the people who need our support and services. Our aim is to bring the dream of Don Bosco come true in our region through our tireless efforts.
He also said that in this process we will come across many challenges, misunderstandings and difficulties, but we need to come together for better understanding. Before concluding he also spoke in short some of the other programmes that are carried out by Bosco Seva Kendra, Development office of the province and particularly mentioned about Children Parliament, DHISHA, Career Guidance and job placement Centres and MoRD (Ministry of Rural Development) project. Finally Fr. Sudhakar thanked Fr. Noel Maddhichetty SDB Ex-Provincial for all his support and encouragement and Fr. Raminedi Balaraju, Provincial for his timely interventions and extending full cooperation to carry out services for the poor and marginalized people entrusted to our care.
Fr. Jayapual Congratulated the BSK team for getting this new project for our province and encouraged the staff to work with same enthusiasm till the end of the project. Fr. Michael Kishore, Fr. Joseph K and Fr. Sleevaraju also addressed the members and assured their cooperation in their respective areas of implementation of project.
Fr. Satinagu Thomas in his words of conclusion said that this project will be carried out in 10 mandals of four of our salesain institutions, namely, Don Bosco Jr. College Chandur- Nalgonda District, Don Bosco, Punganur- Chittoor District, Bosco Ashram, Ponnur and Bosco Integral Rural Development (BIRD), Guntur District. He also said that it is in our hands to make any programme success or failure. Mr. Chandrasekar gave vote of thanks and concluded two hour long programme.
