New Councillors for Salesian Hyderabad

| Hyderabad, Apr. 23. On the eve of the 18th anniversary of the Province of St Joseph, Hyderabad, the Provincial, Fr Raminedi Balaraju announced his new team of close collaborators in the person of the new Provincial Councillors. Fr Thathireddy Vijayabhakar has been announced as the new Vice Provincial while Fr Puthussery Sojan will be the new Provincial Economer. |

The newly elected councillors are the following: Fr Kudiyirippil James, Fr Mallavarapu Rayanna, Fr Santiagu Thomas and Fr Vatti Rayappa Reddy. Fr Maliekal Jose was earlier re-elected as Councillor for another term (till 2012). The newly constituted Provincial Council would assume office with the first meeting scheduled for April 26 and 27, 2010. Very soon the list of Rectors will be announced and so will the rest of the responsibilities too. The announcement was made by Fr Balaraju after his b`day celebrations at the Provincial house amidst confreres of the city of Hyderabad who were present for b`day Mass and meal. The official approval of the election and appointment was made by the Rector Major and his Council on April 19, 2010.
The seniormost of the team is Fr James (Chakochan) and the youngest is Fr Santiagu. Fr Thathireddy is presently the director of DB Pravahini and the commission head of the Social Communications. Fr Sojan has been the director of the Street Children`s home at Visakhapatnam for the last three years. This announcement brings to end a long period of excitement that has been prevalent in the Province, especially over the last four weeks. The other excitement of the state of `obedience` of the rest of the confreres continues! |
